Roger Taylor, Ohio
Term: 2003-2009
Life Member since: 1989

Comrade Roger Taylor of Grover Hill, Ohio is a Navy veteran. He served with the Navy Seabees, MCB-5 in South Vietnam in 1965-1966. A charter member of Grover Hill Post #2873, he served as the first Post Commander in 1968. Roger served as District #1 Commander 1987-1988 and Department Commander 1997-1998. He has served as Department National Home Chairman (3 years) and Department Hospital Chairman.

Taylor’s National Committee commitments include Resolutions, Security & Foreign Affairs, and Youth Activities. He was Chairman of Military Affairs 2001-2002. Taylor has been a life member of the VFW National Home for Children since 1989. He is also a life member of Navy Seabees Veterans of America and Dads of Foreign Service Veterans.

Taylor belongs to The American Legion and the Military Order of the Cootie Pup Tent 20. He is a self-employed carpenter and partner in Taylor Bros. & Associates. Roger is serving his second term on the Paulding County Veterans Service Commission.

Taylor was elected President to the Board on October 27, 2007.  He currently serves on all Committees of the Board by virtue of office.  He has previously served on the Development, Finance, Facilities and Executive Committees.

Taylor and his wife Christine have been married for 39 years, have three children and two grandchildren. He is a lifelong resident of Grover Hill, Ohio.
