Lawrence L. "Larry" Scudder, South Dakota

Comrade Lawrence L. "Larry" Scudder of Rapid City, South
Dakota is a disabled veteran of the United States Air Force and
served in Vietnam from 1970-1972. Scudder has been a Life
Member of VFW Post #1273 in Rapid City, South Dakota for 28 years.
He became a Life Member of the VFW National Home for Children
in 1992 and has been an active supporter of the National Home at
the Department level.
A
leader on the Post, District, Department and National levels, Scudder
served as Department of South Dakota Commander from 1995-1996, Grand
Commander of South Dakota Military Order of the Cootie from 1991-1992
and National Council Member from 2002-2004. Scudder has served
on many National Committees and has been selected five times for
the Aide-de-camp/Recruiter Class and has received the Century Award.
Scudder has received the Purple Heart Medal, Bronze Star Medal,
Presidential Unit Citation, the National Defense Service Medal and
the Vietnam Service and Campaign Medals.
Scudder
and his wife of 37 years, Sharon, have one son, one grandson and
reside in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Scudder serves as a member of the Facilities and Policy/Bylaws
Committees of the Board.
