Comrade Raymond Warren is currently the VFW National Home for Children’s Vice-President of the Board. He also sits on the Program Committee. Previously, he was elected as an alternate on the Executive Committee, and served on the Public Relations, Development, and Facilities Committees.
Within his department, he serves as the 3rd District National Home Chairman, following 4 years as Department of Kansas National Home Chairman.
Warren, of Winfield, Kansas, served with the U.S. Army, A Co., 39th Battalion, Combat Engineers in the Republic of South Vietnam from 1968-1969. Warren joined the VFW in 1984 and became a Life Member in 1997.
Warren is an active member of Post #1254, has progressed through the chairs at Post level, and was named All-State Commander in 2000-2001 by the Department of Kansas. He continued serving his Post as Quartermaster and was named All-State Quartermaster in 2002.
Warren progressed through the chairs of the 3rd District Department of Kansas and continued serving as Trustee for three years. He also served the 3rd District as Buddy Poppy Chairman, VOD Chairman and District Inspector. He served the Department of Kansas for four years as the Teacher Award Chairman.
Warren's past National appointments are National Aide- De-Camp and Finance, and Internal Organization Committee. He has been a part of the volunteer program at the Kansas Veteran's Home in Winfield since its inception, working in several capacities with the residents and volunteers.
Warren has been married for more than 30 years to his wife Barbara and they have two sons and four grandsons. He likes to travel, camp, fish and shoot. In his spare time, Warren enjoys woodworking and working in the yard.
