Verna Caywood, California
Term: 2005-2011
Life Member since: 1963

Sister Verna Caywood of Chico, California joined the Auxiliary on July 13, 1944 on the eligibility of her father, Joseph Curtis Reinwand, a WWI veteran. She has been a continuous member of the Ladies Auxiliary for 63 years and a Life Member of the National Home since 1963.

Caywood is a member of Ladies Auxiliary #1555, Chico, California and Military Order of the Cootie Auxiliary (MOCA) Mule Trail #61.  Throughout her lifelong committment to the Ladies Auxiliary, she served as Department President of California in 1988-1989, National Council Member, Area G, from 1991-1992, Grand President of the California MOCA, Supreme MOCA Chief of Staff and many Department chairmanships. 

Also a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Caywood has been a volunteer at both the Golden Age Games and the Wheelchair Games.  She attended Butte Community College and holds an associate's degree in accounting and business administration. 

   

Sister Caywood has three children, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and resides in Chico, California.

Caywood has been assigned to the Public Relations/Communications and Finance Committees of the Board.
