Sister Verna Caywood currently sits on the VFW National Home for Children’s Public Relations/Communications and Facilities Committees. Previously, she has served on the Finance and Program Committees.
Caywood joined the Auxiliary on July 13, 1944 on the eligibility of her father, Joseph Curtis Reinwand, a WWI veteran. She has been a continuous member of the Ladies Auxiliary for 63 years and a Life Member of the National Home since 1963.
Caywood is a member of Ladies Auxiliary #1555, Chico, California and Military Order of the Cootie Auxiliary (MOCA) Mule Trail #61. Throughout her lifelong commitment to the Ladies Auxiliary, she served as Department President of California in 1988-1989, National Council Member, Area G, from 1991-1992, Grand President of the California MOCA, Supreme MOCA Chief of Staff and many Department chairmanships.
Also a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Caywood has been a volunteer at both the Golden Age Games and the Wheelchair Games. She attended Butte Community College and holds an associate's degree in accounting and business administration.
Caywood has three children, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren and resides in Chico, California. |
