Christmas ~ Santa’s Shop
The holiday season is a wonderful time at the National Home. While we strive to keep Christmas a time to focus on celebration and family – not material items – we also want and need the children and families to experience the joy of giving and receiving gifts.
Just before Christmas, the National Home’s Santa’s Shop opens and the Community Center auditorium comes alive with the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping. Santa’s Shop is a store where children can purchase gifts for friends and family members using community service hours they have earned throughout the year. Each item is priced in community service hour increments needed to “buy” the item.
We collect donations of new items for Santa’s Shop throughout the year. You can help us stock the shelves of this magical store by donating new items appropriate for all ages, but especially for adults. Please indicate your gift is for Santa’s Shop. All Santa’s Shop donations must be received a week before Thanksgiving to allow time to set the store up for shopping to begin in December.
Gifts for Specific Residents
We ask that you refrain from sending gifts designated for a specific resident or the residents of a specific house. It is important that moderation and fairness are observed, which is difficult to do if gifts are designated in this manner. Thank you for your understanding.
