UAW Carnival 2017!

The National Home children and their friends got the chance to play and bounce and have fun at the UAW Carnival. United Auto Workers Region 1-D Veterans Committee provides the annual event, and many members come to the National Home on carnival day to help out with the games and inflatable play places. Awareness Week 2017: Take the Pledge, Tell a Friend

For families experiencing the stresses of deployment and war, it can be difficult to provide a safe and loving home. Military families relocate ten times more often than civilian families -- on average, every 2 or 3 years. Thank you to all who contributed to the 1.6 million labels we needed to secure this vehicle.

The National Home Recognizes Our Vietnam Veterans

The National Home has partnered with the Vietnam War 50th Anniversary Commemoration to assist a grateful nation in thanking and honoring our Vietnam veterans and their families. The National Home's Board of Trustees boasts several Vietnam veterans, and we took a moment to recognize them at the February Board Meeting. Mike McGrath, Sam Compton, Keith Harmon, VFW Senior Vice Commander-in-Chief (sitting in for VFW Commander-In-Chief, Brian Duffy), Ron Stensland, Dave Ouellette, Tom Tweet, and Garry Goff are all valued members of the Board of Trustees and veterans of the Vietnam War. Vietnam veteran, VFW Adjutant General Bob Wallace, was also acknowledged, but unable to attend. The National
