Celebrating the Achievements of our National Home Family!

June 18, 2018

The National Home gymnasium was absolutely buzzing with excitement this year as residents, staff, trustees, and guests gathered for the annual Community Celebration. Each year National Home residents come together to celebrate their achievements over the past academic year.  This year we were pleased to have National Home Trustee, Sam Compton and Military Order of the Cootie Auxiliary Supreme President, Penny Cacoulidis in attendance.

This year we had four preschool graduates, Bella, Laihla, Maximus, and Myles.

All of the children who achieved excellence throughout the school year such as maintaining a high GPA or increasing their GPA, were recognized.  See photos of all of the honorees on our flickr album

TAB (Teen Advisory Board) members were honored for their dedication to helping make the National Home's Library programs fun and well organized.

We had three graduating High School seniors this year, Bailey, Cheyanne, and Savannah. They received cards, presents, and scholarships for graduation.  You can read more about our 2018 grads here.

Seven parents were honored for their educational achievements over the past year.  Brad graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with plans to continue with his Master's next fall.  Briana finished her GED and is really enjoying her job as she decides her future goals.  John Received a General Associates Degree and two certifications in CNC Technology and Manufacturing Engineering Technology.  His wife, Kassandra received a Medical Assistant Certificate.  Sheila received her Surgical Technicial Degree, and Tanya received two associates, one in Social Science and one in General Studies.

The perseverance and motivation shown by our residents as they continue to work to build a better future for themselves and their families are so inspirational. We are so proud to celebrate their many accomplishments with them, both academic and non-academic.
